Graphic Design for Semtech

Graphic Design for Semtech

Introduction

During a one-year contract with Semtech, an IoT company that merged with Sierra Wireless, I supported the commercial marketing team as one half of a two-person design team.

My work spanned print, digital and large-format design, including four full trade show booth designs, technical brochures, posters, white papers and case studies, pop-up banners and graphics for more than 20 international trade shows, paid digital ads, social media content, and the infographics and data visualizations for the company’s annual Corporate Sustainability Report.

Together with my supervisor, I received the Semtech Rising Club award, a company-wide distinction recognizing our design excellence and dedication throughout the year.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Goal

Following the merger of Semtech and Sierra Wireless, the commercial marketing team needed consistent, high-quality design support to keep up with a fast-paced calendar of product launches, international trade shows, corporate communications and digital campaigns.

My role was to turn complex technical and corporate information into clear, polished and on-brand materials for audiences around the world.

Creative Direction

Working closely with my supervisor and marketing stakeholders, I designed within Semtech’s established brand guidelines while keeping a consistent visual identity across print, digital and large-format materials. I presented my work directly to stakeholders and refined each piece through structured feedback, making sure every design decision supported the team’s business objectives.

Making Technical Content Clear

Much of my work involved designing print and digital materials that explained complex products and IoT solutions, including brochures, technical posters and white papers. I also refreshed Semtech’s case study library, rebuilding older case studies into new, on-brand files with updated layouts.

Across all of these pieces, I focused on clear visual hierarchy, clean layouts and supporting graphics to make dense engineering information easier to understand, for engineers and business decision-makers alike.

Trade Show Design

My graphics were deployed across more than 20 international trade shows and campaigns, reaching audiences in multiple markets. I designed four full trade show booths for SIDO Lyon 2025, Electronica India 2025, DistribuTECH 2026 and ISE 2026, where I created the booth for the SDVoE Alliance, which is built around Semtech’s video-over-IP technology. I also designed pop-up banners for events and on-site promotion. Each booth meant translating the brand into a large-format, three-dimensional space, creating graphics that read clearly from across a busy show floor, and preparing files for large-format production.

Digital Marketing Design

Alongside larger projects, I designed a steady stream of digital assets to support Semtech’s ongoing marketing. I created social media graphics for product launches, events and company announcements, along with blog post imagery that brought technical articles to life and kept content visually consistent with the brand. I also designed paid display ad campaigns, adapting each one across multiple ad sizes while keeping the message and call-to-action clear.

Behind the scenes, I handled general image troubleshooting, making sure every visual was optimized and ready to publish across channels.

Corporate Sustainability Report

I designed the infographics and data visualizations for Semtech’s annual Corporate Sustainability Report, which outlines the company’s environmental, social and governance commitments. Working directly with the executive and engineering departments, I translated dense data and technical content into clear, polished charts and infographics while incorporating the company’s standardized icon library to keep everything on-brand. The result was a professional, easy-to-navigate report designed for investors, customers and partners.

Working Smarter with AI

To keep up with a high volume of requests, I integrated AI tools into my design workflow. This helped speed up content production and turn complex technical data into clear, accessible visuals, reducing manual effort and shortening project timelines without compromising quality.

The Outcome

Over the course of my contract, I helped the commercial marketing team deliver a steady stream of polished, on-brand materials across print, digital and large-format channels. This work supported Semtech’s global presence at trade shows and in corporate communications during a key period of growth for the company.
